A big thanks to everyone who participated in  our annual MLA Camelia Sale.  A special thanks also to Mark Crawford for bringing his beautiful camelias for our fund raiser.  Breakfast was outstanding as usual and overall a great success.  We are already planning for 2027!

On June 30th, 2025 a book house was installed outside the Frozen Pelican in Melrose. Now, when you go to enjoy food and ice cream, you can get a book as well. The premise of our book houses is “take a book, leave a book”. In doing so, there will be plenty of books to share with the community.If you don’t have a book to leave the first time you visit, don’t worry, just bring back the one you read when you come back to get another book!

The Melrose Library Association is a proud member of the Florida Library Association, a statewide organization that promotes excellence in Florida libraries by advocating strongly for libraries and providing high quality professional and leadership development for a diverse community of library staff, volunteers, and supporters.  To visit, click here

Summer Reading Programs calendars can be found on the Putnam County Library System website. Go to the PCLS website to find many activities for all ages. Look for the (M) next to the events for Melrose Public Library activities.  Visit the Putnam County Library System

Along the sidewalk to the library, or entering the Butterfly Garden you may have noticed bricks lining those areas.  We have an ongoing commemorative brick project. These bricks may be purchased to commemorate a special day or achievements, as memorials for a loved one, or to recognize someone special. Three lines of 11 letters, spaces and punctuation will fit on one brick. The minimum donation is $75 per brick. Forms for the project are located in the library.
