The newspaper recycling bin behind the Melrose Public Library will no longer be available due to problems with getting it emptied and the mess involved while waiting for the company to empty the bin. It was originally put there for the community and as a fundraiser for the library. In the years it has been there, the money generated has gone from about $300 per year to $0 for the last two years. Putnam, Alachua and Clay counties have curbside recycling pick up as well as regular trash pickup. Check with your county as to whether there is an additional charge or if it is included with your normal trash charge. Bradford county has no curbside recycling pick up in our area, but you can take your recycling (cans, paper and cardboard to the Bradford county site at 1373 SR 100, outside Keystone Heights across from Florida Cracker Kitchen Restaurant). Thank you for your years of support to the library. Congratulations to our Newsletter Editor, Keyna Ward. Keyna’s MLA Newsletter won the Florida Library Association award for best “friends” newsletter in the state of Florida. Thank you Keyna!
Book donations are being accepted once again. Come by the library to check it out and see what is scheduled and welcome our new Branch Manager, Jennifer Stephenson.
Thank you! Thank you to the Clay County Electric Cooperative for their generous support to the Melrose Public Library Renovation Project.
